About Dawid
Developing an Unhurried Mind
Dawid Falck is an author, senior executive, and advisor on management, culture, and organisational effectiveness, with thirty years of operational experience across resources and telecommunications. In Group Manager and global operations roles, he has reset multi-billion-dollar mining operations across Australia, South America and beyond, and wrote and implemented a management operating system deployed globally. He has served as a board director for organisations including Queensland Ballet and The Capability Group.
He now leads The Decision Architecture Group, working with senior executives navigating uncertainty, disruption, and structural operational change — helping them build trust, create clarity, and sustain performance when they struggle with predictable delivery of work.
He writes from Perth — and occasionally from the deck of his boat — in the company of Zeus: his Rottweiler, trusted co-author, and the only colleague in thirty years whose loyalty has never required managing. Together they spend their days researching, writing, and planning how to help the people who reach out.

What I keep coming back to
The effectual truth.
Organisations run on reputation, politics and unwritten rules — a court beneath the org chart. See it clearly, or lose to it. Naming how things actually work is the first act of fixing them.
Less leadership - More Management.
Management is the structuring of work and decisions so that performance remains predictable under pressure.
What is work?
Most underperformance is not laziness or bad values — it is confusion about what the work actually is. Define the work, allocate it, coordinate it, verify it. Everything else is commentary.
Milestones
The journey so far

Rose through Vodafone to National Sales Manager in New Zealand, then State General Manager for QLD & NT — leading teams of hundreds across complex, multi-market operations.

Served on the Board of Queensland Ballet through a period of financial and cultural transformation — chairing governance and marketing, and helping rebuild it into a sustainable, thriving company. He has also held board directorships with other organisations, including The Capability Group.

After 15 years working with BHP, Anglo American and Goldcorp to build their global leadership programs, targeted operational and safety training and management improvement programs, I joined Thiess as Group Manager, Global Operations — developing and writing their global management operating system (MO@T) across the group — and led the reset of the Gruyere gold operation as Project Director.
2026

Stepped out to write, speak and consult full-time, founding The Decision Architecture Group to help organisations build systems that make good decisions inevitable.
